ST. FRANCIS, Wis. -- Milwaukee Bucks reserve forward Ekpe Udoh underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure to alleviate pain in his right knee Thursday, general manager John Hammond announced.
Bucks orthopedist Dr. Michael Gordon performed the surgery which is expected to keep Udoh out four to six weeks.
Entering his third season with the Bucks, Udoh averaged 4.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per game last year. The 26-year-old has been bothered by the knee for some time and has been limited in training camp.
Udoh's injury adds to Milwaukee's depth issue in the frontcourt, as power forward Ersan Ilyasova is out with a sprained ankle and reserve center Zaza Pachulia has yet to return from Achilles surgery.
Ilyasova and Pachulia could be ready for the season opener on Oct. 30, but Milwaukee is currently down to John Henson, Larry Sanders and Miroslav Raduljica inside for the time being.
