Bucks' Antetokounmpo named NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week
The accolades and recognition continue to roll in for Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo â and he can add one more one day shy of his 22nd birthday.
Antetokounmpo has been named the NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Nov. 28 through Dec. 4. It's the second time Antetokounmpo's received the nod and first for a Buck since he won it in February 2015.
Antetokounmpo averaged 24.3 points, 10 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 3.7 steals and 3.0 blocks per game during that week while leading the Bucks to three straight win. Against the reigning champion Cavaliers on Nov. 29, Antetokounmpo tied his career high with 34 points and added 12 rebounds, five assists, five steals and two blocks. Antetokounmpo joined LeBron James as the only two players age 21 or younger to have 30/10/5/5 in a game since 1983.
In a win over Brooklyn on Dec. 1, Antetokounmpo nearly notched a triple-double despite not playing in the fourth quarter. He followed that up with his seventh double-double of the season, scoring 16 points with 10 rebounds in addition to a career-high-tying five blocks in a Bucks win at home against the Nets on Dec. 3.
