The Anaheim Ducks are looking for a new head coach

Bruce Boudreau, the head man on the bench for five seasons, was relieved of duties, Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Murray announced on Friday.

"I would like to thank Bruce for his hard work and dedication to the franchise," said Murray in a release. "This was a very difficult decision to make. Bruce is a good coach and character person, and we wish him the best of luck in the future."

Boudreau complied a 208-104-40 record with the Ducks, along with the last four consecutive Pacific Division titles.

This season, the Ducks dealt with their fair share of adversity throughout the season, but rallied late to put themselves in a good position in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

However, the team was eliminated after a Game 7 loss to the Predators on Wednesday.

"On behalf of the Ducks organization, we would like to express our appreciation to Bruce and his wife Crystal for their commitment to our community," said Ducks owners Henry and Susan Samueli. "Bruce led us to four division titles with tremendous passion and pride, and we will always be grateful for his contributions both on and off the ice."
