Browns re-sign Shaun Draughn and Spencer Lanning
BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns on Friday re-signed exclusive rights free agents RB Shaun Draughn and P Spencer Lanning. General Manager Ray Farmer made the announcement.
Draughn joined the Browns prior to Week 14 last season. He appeared in four games and returned five kickoffs for 115 yards (23.0 avg.) and added one special-teams tackle. He also saw action in four games with the Chargers and two with the Bears in 2014. He has appeared in 30 career games and has registered 254 rushing yards on 73 attempts (3.5 avg.) with two touchdowns and 24 receptions for 158 yards.
Since earning the Browns punting role in 2013, Lanning has landed 53 punts inside the 20-yard line, the highest two-year total in Browns history. Last season, he punted 93 times with a 44.3 avg. and a 39.2 net. He also placed 25 punts inside the 20. During a 31-27 victory at Minnesota on Sept. 22, 2013, Lanning became the first NFL player since 1968 with a punt, extra point and touchdown pass in the same game.
