Browns QB Weeden nursing sprained thumb
BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden's sprained right thumb could keep him out of this week's game at Minnesota.
Weeden was injured in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game at Baltimore when he hit his hand on a helmet after throwing a pass. Coach Rob Chudzinski said the team will wait to see how the injury responds in the next few days before deciding Weeden's status for the Vikings.
Backup Jason Campbell replaced Weeden against the Ravens, but Chudzinski said he will consider playing third-stringer Brian Hoyer. Chudzinski said "we'll keep all our options open right now and that's Jason and Brian both."
Weeden has been sacked 11 times in Cleveland's first two games as the Browns offensive line has had protection issues. Weeden finished 21 of 33 for 227 yards against Baltimore.
