Browns QB Hoyer: Texans' Mallett has 'strongest arm I've ever seen'
It will be a New England reunion of sorts when the Texans visit the Browns on Sunday.
Cleveland quarterback Brian Hoyer knows a little about the new Texans' starting signal caller Ryan Mallett.
Both worked under first-year Houston coach Bill O'Brien when he was on the Patriots' staff.
Although all three were together in New England for just one season in 2011, Mallett left a strong impression as a rookie.
"Strongest arm I've ever seen," Hoyer said, according to the Houston Chronicle. "And I really do mean that."
Hoyer admitted he didn't have a close relationship Mallett, but the short time they spent together with the Patriots was a great learning experience.
"Those were some of the best times of my career," he said. "The quarterback position is so unique in the NFL. Only one of us could play and only one of us could be the backup [to Tom Brady]."
