Browns inactives for Buffalo
ORCHARD PARK, NY--The Browns declared top draft choice Justin Gilbert out for Sunday's game with the Bills due to an illness.
Due to Gilbert being inactive, rookie defensive back Pierre Desir is active for the first time this season. Desir was a fourth-round draft choice in 2014 from Lindenwood.
The other inactive players were of no surprises as linebacker Karlos Dansby, tight end Jordan Cameron and safety Tashaun Gipson were declared out earlier this week.
Linebacker Jabaal Sheard and defensive lineman Ahtyba Rubin are active. Sheard is active for the second-straight game after injuring his foot. He was limited in practice during the week, as was Rubin.
Jim Leonhard is starting in place of Gipson, while Jim Dray starts at tight end for Cameron. Craig Robertson starts at the MIKE linebacker position for Dansby.
Other inactive players for the Browns were wide receiver Rodney Smith, wide receiver Marlon Moore and offensive lineman Vinston Painter.
Dansby will miss his second-straight game with a knee injury, while Cameron is missing his fifth game due to a concussion.
