Brodeur to drop the puck before Blues take on Predators
ST. LOUIS -- Jan. 29 will certainly be a day to remember for Martin Brodeur.
The NHL's all-time winningest goaltender is set to announce his retirement at a 10:30 a.m. press conference Thursday. He then will drop the puck later in the evening before the Blues take on Nashville.
Obviously, fans will want to be in their seats for that. But if you can't make it to the game, the puck drops at 7 p.m. and can be seen live on FOX Sports Midwest.
Fans will also be able to watch the retirement press conference on stlouisblues.com.
The three-time Stanley Cup winner finishes his 22-year career with St. Louis after joining the Blues as a free agent Dec. 2, going 3-3-0 with a shutout in his final game.
Brodeur compiled a 691-397-176 overall record and leaves the game as the most decorated goalie of all time. He holds regular-season NHL goaltending records for wins, shutouts (125), games played (1,266) and minutes played (74,438). In postseason games he has the most starts (204) and shutouts (24) and is second in wins (113).
