Brewers recall Cravy, Magnifico, place Blazek on DL
The Milwaukee Brewers have recalled right-handed pitcher Tyler Cravy from Triple-A Colorado Springs to be the 26th man for Tuesday's doubleheader vs. the Chicago Cubs.
The team has also called up right-handed pitcher Damien Magnifico from Triple-A and sent pitcher Michael Blazek to the disabled list with a right forearm strain.
Cravy, 27, has yielded seven runs and 14 hits in 9 2/3 innings for the Brewers this season and has a 5.91 ERA in 21 games (nine starts) in Triple-A this season. He was 0-8 with a 5.70 ERA in 14 games (seven starts) for the Brewers in 2015.
The 25-year-old Magnifico will be making his major-league debut, after posting a 3.18 ERA in 47 appearances (56 2/3 innings) for Colorado Springs this season. The Brewers drafted the 6-1, 195-pound Magnifico in the fifth round of the 2012 draft out of Oklahoma.
Blazek has a 5.58 ERA in 40 1/3 innings for the Brewers this season. He had a 2.45 ERA in 11 April appearances but has struggled since and spent time on the disabled list in June because of a right elbow impingement.
The Brewers placed Blazek on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Sunday.
