Brewers option starter Jungmann to Triple-A
The Milwaukee Brewers have optioned starting pitcher Taylor Jungmann to the Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox following a rough outing against the Chicago Cubs.
The Brewers added reliever David Goforth to the roster in his place.
Jungmann allowed six hits and five runs through just 3 2/3 innings of work at Wrigley Field on Thursday, bringing his record to 0-4 on the season with a 9.15 ERA.
Jungmann entered the season as the third member of the Brewers' rotation after a strong showing down the stretch in 2015, but has struggled in his second pro season.
The Brewers picked up a win in Jungmann's first start, a 4-3 victory over the high-scoring San Francisco Giants, before the 26 year old rattled off four straight losses.
Goforth appeared in 20 games for the Brewers last season, logging 24 2/3 innings of work and a 4.01 ERA.
