
Breeders' Cup modifies rules for trainers, horses

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) The Breeders' Cup has modified its Convicted Trainer Rule to prohibit the entry of any horse found to have tested positive for certain substances in the year leading up to the world championships.
The Breeders' Cup board of directors said Saturday that it also unanimously voted to prohibit assistant trainers or other employees that banned trainers may transfer horses to from participating in the two-day event.
The modified rules will take effect beginning with next year's Breeders' Cup at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky.
