Boston College-Georgia Tech postponed due to winter storm
The storm that is ripping through the South, leaving tens of thousands without power, has forced the postponement of Wednesday's Boston College-Georgia Tech men's basketball game in Atlanta.
They will now play Thursday at 5 p.m. ET to accommodate Boston College's travel. The game will air on FOX Sports South.
Due to the change, FOX Sports South will not air Thursday's N.C. State-Clemson women's game. The Eagles-Yellow Jackets game will be followed by Virginia Tech vs. Wake Forest women airing at 8:30 p.m. ET on a delay.
Georgia Tech, in consultation with ACC and Boston College officials made the decision to postpone the game, despite both teams being in Atlanta.
It's the first time the Jackets had a home game postponed since Dec. 2010, though that was due to its opponent, Fordham, running into complications traveling into Georgia.
The ACC contest is one of a number of games impacted by the weather, as South Carolina pushed its game against Vanderbilt to Thursday and the Atlantic Sun moved Stetson-USC Upstate in Spartanburg, S.C. from Thursday night to Monday .
Tonight's @GTMBK game against Boston College has been postponed to Thursday. Game time will be announced later today. http://t.co/FZiblsfI7h
