PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A person familiar with the trade says the Philadelphia Flyers have acquired defenseman Pavel Kubina from the Tampa Bay Lightning for a pair of draft picks.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on Saturday night on condition of anonymity because the deal has not been made public. The rounds of the draft picks were not immediately available.

Kubina was held out of Tampa Bay's lineup Saturday night against Washington. He also sat out a game earlier this week because Tampa Bay was shopping him.

Kubina has three goals and 11 points in 52 games. He has 110 goals and 382 points in 953 career games.

He is in the final year of a two-year contract and will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

The Flyers acquired their second defenseman this week after picking up Nicklas Grossman from the Dallas Stars on Thursday.
