WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue trustees have approved a six-year contract for incoming football coach Jeff Brohm.

Board members' action Friday pays Brohm $3.3 million in 2017. That includes a $300,000 university salary and a supplemental stipend just over $3 million.

Additionally, Brohm is eligible for incentives totaling $1.3 million if the Boilermakers meet academic and performance guidelines that consider team grade-point average, graduation success, Big Ten division and conference rankings and postseason bowl-game participation.

Brohm comes to Indiana from Western Kentucky. He posted a 30-10 record there from 2014-16 -- including 19-5 in the Conference USA. The Hilltoppers were league champions the last two seasons. That's the first time in Western Kentucky's history as a Football Bowl Subdivision member.

Purdue is coming of a 3-9 season.
