Blue Jackets need youth movement

As the season reaches the midpoint, the Columbus Blue Jackets fear seeing their defensive corps sabotage their drive for a playoff appearance. Columbus general manager Scott Howson is said to be talking with Toronto, Pittsburgh, the New York Rangers and the New York Islanders as he looks for blue-line help.
With the difficulty to make a trade in today's NHL, the move for Howson might be to look inside the system and at the talented youthful defense in Springfield.
