Monday night the Blue Jackets announced the addition of William Karlsson to their roster as an emergency recall from the team's AHL affiliate in Springfield.

The 22-year-old Karlsson was acquired from Anaheim in the same deal that brought Rene Bourque to the organization earlier this month in exchange for James Wisniewski.

A native of Sweden, Karlsson played 18 games for the Ducks this season, his first in the NHL. He was picked No. 53 overall in the 2011 draft.

The Blue Jackets also made a minor-league move, adding 2014 first-round draft pick Sonny Milano to the Springfield roster.

The 18-year-old Milano spent the past season with Plymouth of the OHL, where he had 22 goals and 46 assists in 50 games. Previously, Milano was with the U.S. National Team Development Program.

A Massapequa, N.Y., native, Milano was the 16th overall pick last summer.
