Blue Jackets assign Marko Dano to Springfield
COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forward Marko Dano to the American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Dano, 20, recorded eight goals and 13 assists for 21 points with 14 penalty minutes and a +12 plus/minus rating while averaging 13:15 of ice time in 35 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He posted 4-10-14 with three multi-point efforts in his last 15 games. Dano made his NHL debut October 9 at Buffalo and picked up his first NHL goal and assist October 11 vs. the NY Rangers.
The Eisenstadt, Austria native has also posted 10-8-18 and 26 penalty minutes in 37 games with Springfield in 2014-15. He has collected 12-12-24 with 30 penalty minutes in 47 career AHL games and added 0-2-2 in five career Calder Cup playoff games.
The club's third first-round pick, 27th overall, in the 2013 NHL Draft, Dano spent the past two seasons with the KHL's HC Sloven. He registered 6-6-12 and 67 penalty minutes in 78 games with the club, including 3-2-5 and 41 penalty minutes in 41 games in 2013-14. He also represented Slovakia at the 2013 World Championships and 2013 and 2014 World Junior Championships.
