COLUMBUS, OHIO – The National Hockey League announced today the cancellation of the 2012 pre-season schedule through September 30 as well as the October 3rd Kraft Hockeyville game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Toronto Maple Leafs in Stirling-Rawdon, Ontario.  The cancellation of the schedule was necessary due to the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Players’ Association and the NHL. The Blue Jackets, who were scheduled to open training camp on Friday, were slated to play four games this month.  The cancelled games include:  Monday, September 24 vs. Pittsburgh; split squad games on Wednesday, September 26 vs. Carolina at Nationwide Arena and vs. Washington in Baltimore, Maryland; and Saturday, September 29 at Pittsburgh.
