Blake Griffin earns Western Conference Player of the Week honors
Blake Griffin is the Western Conference's Player of the Week for the fifth time in his career.
Griffin earned the honor, announced by the NBA on Monday morning, for averaging 23.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game as the Clippers went an undefeated 4-0 last week.
The Clippers (11-5, 7th Western Conference) have returned from a fruitful seven-game roadtrip and host Minnesota (4-11) on Monday night at Staples Center.
Griffin led the Clippers to an organization-best 6-1 roadtrip, where they seem to have found their groove. Griffin scored at least 22 points in three of the Clippers' four games over the last week.
Against Charlotte, Griffin nearly had a triple double with 22 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists. For the season, Griffin is averaging 22.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
Chris Paul was also nominated for the Western Conference award.
LeBron James earned Player of the Week in the Eastern Conference.
