Bird is the Word Podcast: In depth with Falcons' Foes, the Cardinals

ATLANTA -- Other than the fact that both took losses last week, there aren't a whole lot of similarities between the two first-place teams that will face off in the Georgia Dome on Sunday. The Arizona Cardinals are 9-2 and still holding on to the top spot in the NFC's playoff picture.

The Atlanta Falcons are 4-7, and also barely holding on to a spot in the playoff picture. But the Falcons are in a much more precarious situation.

The Falcons' four wins have all come within the NFC South. That means Atlanta is 0-7 outside the division. Does anyone need a reminder that Arizona resides in the NFC West?

The first topic of conversation in this version of "Bird is the Word" revolves around Atlanta catching the Cardinals after a rare loss. Does that spell doom for the Falcons?

FOX Sports Arizona analyst Craig Morgan joined Knox Bardeen of FOX Sports South to talk about the Cardinals-Falcons matchup.

Other topics of conversation in this podcast:

1. With Drew Stanton as its starting quarterback, Arizona has scored just 17 points over its last two games. How can Atlanta disrupt his ability to move this offense efficiently?

2. Arizona has only given up 19 sacks this season. Atlanta ranks 30th in the league with only 14 sacks. Is this going to be a day with Stanton getting a lot of time in the pocket? How should the Falcons attack this offensive line?

3. Can you update us on Larry Fitzgerald's status for the game? If he plays, what does that do for Arizona's offense. If he does not, what will the Cardinals do.

4. Last week the Falcons played Cleveland, a team that typically allows lots of yards on the ground, and not much through the air. Arizona is exactly the opposite (third vs. the run at 84.5 yards per game, and 25th vs. the pass -- 254.6 ypg). How have teams been moving the ball through the air against this Arizona defense?

5. Patrick Peterson vs. Julio Jones. Peterson claims to have won most of their head-to-head matchups all the way back to college. Jones claims team victories. Can Peterson shut him down?
