Which side are you on?
The Angels and Dodgers unveiled a joint billboard at Highland and Wilshire, honoring the 2014 Most Valuable Player awards for Angels star Mike Trout and Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw.
The script on the billboard reads, "Is your MVP Red or Blue," and highlights the upcoming Freeway Series dates of April 2-4, which signifies the end of spring training. The Angels will host the Dodgers on April 2-3, while the Dodgers welcome the Angels to Chavez Ravine on April 4.
The Angels and Dodgers invite fans to use social media to celebrate Trout's and Kershaw's accomplishments with #MVPKersh and #MVPTrout during a six-week period leading up to the Freeway Series.
Trout won his first career American League MVP honor after batting .287 with 115 runs scored, 39 doubles, 36 home runs and 111 RBI. Trout, at 23 years and 52 days old at the end of the season, is the third-youngest AL player to win the award.
Kershaw paced MLB with 21 wins in 2014, including a 1.77 ERA and 239 strikeouts, and was the first NL pitcher to be honored as MVP since Bob Gibson in 1968.
The 2014 season was the 11th time in the 83-year history of the BBWAA MVP awards where players from the same market won their league's respective honors.
