Big man Durley won't be attending Marquette
MILWAUKEE – Marquette will not be getting 6-foot-10 Texas high school prospect Aaron Durley after all.
Durley requested and was granted his release from his National Letter of Intent with Marquette and will not join coach Buzz Williams and the Golden Eagles next season.
"It has been a privilege and pleasure building a relationship with Aaron and his family," Williams said in a statement released by the team. "We wish Aaron the absolute best in his future academic and athletic career. I believe he will be successful in both."
It is not yet known where Durley will play his college basketball now. He appeared to be the much-needed big man that Marquette sorely needs next to juniors Chris Otule and Davante Gardner, both of whom were injured for much of this past season as the Golden Eagles made their second consecutive run to the Sweet 16.
