Minor controversies and Bret Bielema seem to go together like Arkansas and its hog call: you simply can’t have one without the other.

Bielema, the former Wisconsin football coach, continues to raise eyebrows with his talk in both social settings and social media settings this offseason. The now Arkansas coach has fanned some flames yet again, on two separate occasions in the past week.

It began last Thursday when Bielema told a gathering of Razorbacks fans that he was taking aim at Alabama and its head coach Nick Saban — innocent enough until Bielema put his success level up against that of Saban.

“The reason the SEC is talked about all the time is one team, because of their dominance,” Bielema said. “But I didn't come here to play Alabama. I came here to beat Alabama.”

"You can take Saban's record when he was at Michigan State and when he was a coach in the Big Ten and put it against mine, and he can't compare."

On Monday, Bielema followed up on his comment on Twitter, while also poking fun at former Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino. Petrino was involved in a motorcycle accident one year ago to the day. It was later revealed he was riding with his mistress, whom he unfairly hired to work in the Razorbacks athletic department. He was fired 10 days later.

Bielema tweeted:

If Bielema’s team next season is as entertaining as his offseason antics, Razorbacks fans are in for quite a treat.
