ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Rangers plan to honor the city of West Saturday, but Texas designated hitter Lance Berkman is getting a head start.
Berkman will donate a fire truck to the city of West, which is recovering from a tragic explosion April 17.
The Arlington Fire Department helped locate and refurbish the fire truck, which will be presented to the city Saturday during the pregame as part of the City of West Night.
This isn't the first time a Texas player has helped donated a fire truck. Last year outfielder Nelson Cruz helped the city of Las Matas Santa Cruz in the Dominican Republic get a fire truck.
