CINCINNATI (AP) -- The Bengals have signed defensive tackle Vaughn Meatoga (MAY'-uh-TOHNG'-uh) from Hawaii, giving him a chance to show he can fit into their line rotation.
Meatoga also was with the Bengals in the 2012 preseason. He spent time on the practice squads at Oakland and Seattle last year. No team had signed him this year.
Also on Friday, the Bengals cleared running back Cedric Peerman to return to practice. Peerman had been held out the first week because he was recovering from an ankle injury.
The Bengals practice on Saturday and Sunday before heading to Atlanta for workouts against the Falcons before their preseason opener next Thursday.
