Bengals sign DT Pat Sims
The Bengals have signed defensive tackle Pat Sims, an unrestricted free agent who spent the last two seasons with Oakland after opening his career with five seasons in Cincinnati, the team announced Thursday.
Sims (6-2, 310; Auburn) is an eighth-year NFL player in 2015. He played in all 32 Oakland games over 2013-14, logging totals of 49 and 36 tackles. His NFL career totals include 92 games played, 41 starts, 264 tackles, 7.0 sacks and one interception.
Sims played regularly on Bengals playoff teams in 2009 and 2011-12. He was a third-round Bengals draft selection in 2008.
"Pat was a good player for us here and we think he can fill a role for us this year," said Bengals defensive line coach Jay Hayes. "He lends a physical dimension. He's a very aggressive run player, and we're happy to have him back."
