Baylor upgrades future schedule with Utah
Baylor's taking steps to combat critics of its nonconference schedule.
The Bears will play a home and home series with Utah in 2023 and 2024. Baylor will host the Utes at McLane Stadium in 2023 before traveling to Salt Lake in 2024, the schools announced on Wednesday.
The agreement gives Baylor a second Power 5 opponent on its future schedule. The Bears are also schedule to face Duke in 2017 and 2018.
The Bears finished 12-1 this season, but were excluded from the playoff after playing FCS Northwestern State and SMU at home and traveling to Buffalo before beginning conference play.
Art Briles said earlier this month that the Bears' October loss to West Virginia was more responsible for their exclusion than their lack of a marquee nonconference game.
