Bailey: 51-yard try was not out of my range
Dan Bailey had a chance to give the Cowboys their third win of the season on Sunday. But his task was not easy.
The second-year kicker was asked to match his career-long of 51 yards on a last-second field-goal try.
The kick sailed just left of the uprights and the Cowboys were left with a 31-29 loss in Baltimore.
Bailey said afterward that the outdoor kick was not out of his range. He also declined to blame it on the wind.
"I felt like I hit it pretty good," Bailey said. "I wouldn't say it has been at the end of my range. It just didn't go in. It's one of those deals where as a kicker it's a bittersweet thing. As soon as the ball leaves your foot, it's either going in or it's not. There is no gray area there. It didn't go in this time. So I'm going to try my best to make the next one."
Bailey's career-long 51-yarder came last October in a 34-7 win over the Rams at Cowboys Stadium.
