Badgers predictions: Game 8 at Rutgers
Coming off a blowout win over a first-time Big Ten opponent, Wisconsin now goes on the road -- yes, the Badgers do actually play away from Camp Randall Stadium -- and try to do the same against Rutgers.
As with previous weeks, finding predicitons from around the web have been a bit slim, largely due to Wisconsin not being ranked, but also a little bit due to the opponent.
This likely won't change next week (hello, Purdue!), but Nebraska is right around the corner.
OK, with all that being said, here's this week's predictions:
Our own Jesse Temple via his Know the Foe series: Wisconsin 30, Rutgers 20
All three Big Ten Network analysts are picking Wisconsin to win. The scores: Tom Dienhart 38-13; Sean Merriman 34-24; Brent Yarina 40-14.
All four Athlon Sports analysts are picking Wisconsin to win. The scores: David Fox, 42-14; Braden Gall, 40-24; Steven Lassan, 38-27; Mitch Light, 31-13.
Whatifsports.com simulation: Wisconsin is given a 65.3% chance of winning with an average score of 22.6-18.7.
Collegefootballnews.com: Wisconsin 44, Rutgers 20. "Wisconsin will run the ball from the start, it'll run in the middle, and it'll keep on running to a strong win, but Rutgers will have a few nice moments at home where it'll provide a little bit of hope. And then Wisconsin will steamroll for a long, brutish touchdown drive. With Rutgers QB Gary Nova hurting, the UW defensive front will take advantage."
All five ESPN.com Big Ten contributors picked Wisconsin to win. A score of 45-14 is listed (as usual, not sure if that was group agreed upon). " With or without Gary Nova, the Scarlet Knights are feeling the effects of trips over the past two weeks to Ohio State and Nebraska. And Rutgers is getting the Badgers at a bad time, right as Wisconsin finds itself offensively behind rejuvenated QB Joel Stave and the relentless Melvin Gordon. "
