The No. 19 Wisconsin men's hockey squad fended off Bemidji State by a 3-2 margin Saturday night.

The Badgers (12-9-7 overall, 9-6-7 WCHA) stormed out to a 3-0 lead by midway through the second period, after a goal from rookie defenseman Kevin Schulze. Bemidji State (5-17-6 overall, 4-13-5 WCHA) tallied two goals shortly thereafter, but Wisconsin's defense stood strong enough to provide the Badgers with the eventual win.

Wisconsin also got goals from Keegan Meuer and Brendan Woods. In addition, Badgers netminder Landon Peterson was largely solid, recording 18 saves.
