Bacon! Hoops! The perfect combination? K-State seems to think so
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Best idea at Kansas State since the hiring of Bill Snyder in 1988?
Well ... OK, we won't go that far. But baby, it's close.
Tastefully close.
In case you haven't heard by now, the Wildcats' women's basketball program -- perennially one of the best in the Big 12 -- is doubling down on the awesome for its home opener Friday against Tennessee State.
And they're doing it with two words: Free. Bacon.
That's right, kids: K-State students who hit Bramlage Coliseum for the opener starting at 4:45 p.m. will receive a free "boat" of bacon.
Not a real boat, mind you.
But enough to fill a small paper container. Which is still pretty stinking cool.
The announcement was made official via Twitter on Tuesday; concessionaire Sodexo, so the story goes, has committed to cooking 300 pounds of bacon that will be served an hour before tip-off.

"We'll see how it goes on Friday," Bethany Cordell, a grad assistant in Kansas State's Fan Experience and Sales Office, told Yahoo Sports. "If people are just as excited about it on Friday, this is something we'll definitely look at doing again."
Because the only thing better than a "free bacon" game?
A "free bacon" SEQUEL.
