SYDNEY (AP) Australia and Queensland fullback Billy Slater will miss the entire National Rugby League season after undergoing surgery on his left shoulder.
The 32-year-old Slater played in the Melbourne Storm's season-opening match against St. George-Illawarra but withdrew from his team's second-round match with an injury.
The Storm issued a statement Tuesday saying Slater would be sidelined for 6-8 months, adding: ''The surgeon ... is confident Slater will make a full and successful recovery.''
