Australia bowls Ireland out for 198 in ODI in South Africa
BENONI, South Africa (AP) Spinner Adam Zampa took 3-37 as Australia reined in Ireland to bowl it out for 198 in their one-off limited-overs international in South Africa on Tuesday.
Warming up for a five-game ODI series against South Africa, Ireland was 121-2 before the Aussie bowlers found form.
Scott Boland (2-42) removed Irish top scorer John Anderson for 39 and Australia captured Ireland's last eight wickets for 77 runs.
Quick bowler Daniel Worrall had 1-43 in his international debut and John Hastings 2-31, with his wickets coming off consecutive balls to end the innings.
Ireland, last in the ODI rankings, had hoped for a much better total against the top-ranked team after captain William Porterfield (24), Paul Stirling (30) and Anderson all made good starts at the top of the order.
