FULLERTON, Calif. -- Arizona State softball (28-3) captured two wins Friday on the second day of the Judy Garman Classic. The Sun Devils topped Fresno State 4-0 in the first game, then got a Katelyn Boyd homer to edge No. 19 Michigan 1-0 in the nightcap.

Hillary Bach moved up in the ASU record books, notching her 79th career win which ranks third all-time. Bach shut out Fresno State (19-11) in game one of Friday’s action.

Katelyn Boyd tallied the lone run in ASU’s matchup against Michigan, her 13th home run in 2012. She now ranks 15th in single season home runs and is one shy of second place in career homers with 59.

Game 1: Arizona State 4, Fresno State 0

In a game reminiscent of Thursday night's win over BYU, ASU scored all its runs in one inning to earn the win. The four-run frame came in the bottom of the sixth, with the Sun Devils loading the bases to get things started.

A passed ball allowed Katelyn Boyd to come home for a 1-0 lead to start the scoring, and ASU then got a single to left from Lucy Aubrecht to plate Annie Lockwood. Nikole Afusia then made it 4-0 with a two-run single to right that scored Danielle Muniz and Elizabeth Caporuscio.

Hillary Bach shut down Fresno State the rest of the way to improve to a team-best 13-0 on the year. She now ranks third in Arizona State history in wins with 79. The win also gave Bach her eighth shutout in 11 starts; she leads the staff with a 0.57 ERA in 73 1/3 innings worked.

Aubrecht and Afusia led the Sun Devils offensively, with Aubrecht going 2 for 3 with one RBI and Afusia tallying two RBIs in her pinch-hitting appearance.

Game 2: Arizona State 1, Michigan 0

No. 19 Michigan and ASU remained scoreless through until the bottom of the sixth inning before Katelyn Boyd put the Sun Devils in control. Boyd launched her 13th home run of the year, a long shot to center, to put ASU ahead with what proved to be the game's only run.

Dallas Escobedo threw a shutout to earn the win, improving to 10-2 on the year, while Michigan's Haylie Wagner fell to 12-4 with the loss.
