Arizona State is ranked fourth in the USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association preseason softball poll.

The Sun Devils, who had a 53-11 record while finishing third at last season's Women's College World Series, trail Alabama, Oklahoma and California in the preseason rankings. Oregon is ranked fifth, giving the Pac-12 Conference three teams in the top five.

Four other Pac-12 schools are among the top 25 teams: No. 13 Arizona, No. 16 Washington, No. 19 UCLA and No. 21 Stanford.

The Sun Devils return starting pitcher Dallas Escobedo, All-America outfielder Alix Johnson, starting infielders Sam Parlich and Haley Steele, starting catcher Amber Freeman and starting outfielder Elizabeth Caporuscio from last season's team.

The Sun Devils open their season on Feb. 7, hosting New Mexico in the Kajikawa Classic.
