Just a couple days after landing a commitment from four-star quarterback Manny Wilkins, ASU got some confirmation that its QB of the (relatively distant) future is a pretty promising prospect.

Wilkins, coming out of San Marin, Calif., and ranked by Scout as the 15th-best quarterback in the country, was one of four passers who received an invite over the weekend to the finals of the Elite 11, an invitation-only camp reserved for the top high school quarterbacks in the country.

Despite the name, there are more than 11 quarterbacks participating each year -- there were 25 in last year's field, and 15 have been invited this season -- but a spot in the finals, which must be earned via performance at one of the Elite 11 regional camps,  is still notable. The event is scheduled for mid-July in Beaverton, Ore.

Also invited this week was Scottsdale Saguaro quarterback Luke Rubenzer, who has not been ranked by Scout and, unlike most other finalists, does not have an extensive list of offers from Division I programs.

Scottsdale Desert Mountain quarterback Kyle Allen, ranked by Scout as the top QB nationally and the No. 21 player overall, has already been invited to the finals after a strong performance at a camp in Chicago last month.
