Arnold Schwarzenegger to drive pace car at Sonoma Raceway
Get to the pace car!!!
Action movie star and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will lead the NASCAR field to green for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 (June 28) at Sonoma Raceway.
Schwarzenegger will be driving a 2016 Toyota Mirai, a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle that emits only water from its exhaust.
"I can't wait to drive the pace car at Sonoma," said Schwarzenegger. "It will be an honor to lead these fantastic athletes and champions around the raceway, and on top of it, I get to drive a car that is both powerful and green."
This will be the first time Schwarzenegger has served as an Official Pace Car Driver at a Sprint Cup Series race. He'll also be recognized during pre-race ceremonies and greet each driver on stage during driver introductions.
