TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona freshman Grant Jerrett should be able to play Thursday against Ohio State in the NCAA tournament.
School officials issued a statement Sunday afternoon stating that X-rays taken on Jerrett's right elbow were negative. Jerrett, a 6-foot-10 forward, injured the elbow in the first half in
Arizona’s win over Harvard on Saturday, falling to the court on the play. He did not return to the game.
The statement said in part that team trainer Justin Kokoskie "is confident that Grant will regain full strength and sensation over the next 24 hours and should be ready to play Thursday."
The sixth-seeded Wildcats will play the second-seeded Buckeyes in Los Angeles for a spot in the Elite Eight.
