Arizona volleyball sweeps two matches

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona hit a season-high .396 and Madi Kingdon finished with a match-high 14 kills to lift the Wildcats to a 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-15) sweep of Boise State at the Arizona Desert Classic on Friday night inside the McKale Center.
The Wildcats, who swept UC Irvine earlier in the day, improved their record to 7-3, while Boise State fell to 6-7.

Sophomore Taylor Arizobal also finished with double-figure kills as she provided 10 on .474 hitting. Sophomores Shaquillah Torres and Rachel Rhoades were extremely efficient on the night. Torres added nine kills and hit .583, while Rhoades provided six kills on .545 hitting with four blocks.

In the morning match against UC Irvine (4-7), Kingdon and Arizobal combined for 29 kills to lead Arizona to a 3-0 sweep by scores of 26-24, 25-17, 25-17.

Kingdon recorded her fourth double-double of the season, adding 13 digs to her match-high 15 kills.


UA freshman Olivia Magill had a breakout performance, posting a season-high eight kills on .667 hitting to go along with six blocks, tying a season high.
