Arizona State signs touted JC tight end
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Junior college tight end Raymond Epps of Arizona Western has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Sun Devils, Arizona State head coach Todd Graham announced Wednesday.
The mid-year NLI signing period for junior college players runs from Dec. 17 through Jan. 15, while the high school seniors signing period is Feb. 4-April 1.
Epps, a 6-5, 235-pound native of Indianapolis, is rated by ESPN as the third-best junior college tight end in the nation. He will arrive in Tempe as a redshirt sophomore with three seasons of playing eligibility and is expected on campus in time for the start of spring semester in January. He will participate in offseason conditioning as well spring practice.
Epps attended the same junior college as recent Sun Devils Steffon Martin, Darwin Rogers and Chris Young. He appeared in 11 of 12 games as a freshman in 2013 and was awarded a medical redshirt for the 2014 season.
