Arizona rallies for 14-inning win over Utah Valley
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Tyler Krause, making his collegiate debut, delivered a two-out, pinch-hit double to center field to drive in Scott Kingery and give Arizona an 8-7, 14-inning victory over Utah Valley on Tuesday night at Hi Corbett Field.
Utah Valley reliever Braden Poole had pitched 4.1 innings of scoreless relief until Kingery singled with two outs in the 14th, stole second base and scored on Krause's hit over cener fielder Jordy Hart's head.
Eight Arizona relievers limited Utah Valley to four hits one run over the final 12.1 innings after Utah Valley had roughed up starter Mathew Troupe for eight hits and six runs.
Arizona (3-1) rallied back from 6-0 and 7-5 deficits, tying the game with two runs in the bottom of the seventh on a run-scoring single by Willie Calhoun and a sacrifice fly by Zach Gibbons. Morgan Earman was the winning pitcher.
