With less than a week remaining before National Signing Day, Arizona's recruiting class got one player smaller on Saturday when cornerback Naijiel Hale, the son of late rapper Nate Dogg, decommitted.
Hale, a 5-foot-11, 170-pounder from John Bosco High in Bellflower, Calif., committed over the summer but said early Saturday morning that he instead will be attending Washington. The four-star recruit announced his decision via Twitter after visiting the Huskies' campus on Friday.
He also had visited Utah since his commitment to Arizona.
Hale isn't the first high-profile recruit to exit early from the Wildcats' 2014 recruiting class. Five-star cornerback Jalen Tabor, who committed to Arizona at the Under Armour All-American Game last month, decommitted less than a week later and announced that he was enrolling at Florida.
Arizona's signing class now stands at 27 players as Wednesday's National Signing Day approaches.
