Anthony Davis Could make History vs Timberwolves

Anthony Davis Could make History vs Timberwolves

If the Pelicans Anthony Davis has another night versus the Timberwolves like he did against the Lakers, he'll thrust himself into historical company with Patrick Ewing.

Wednesday, Davis recorded  25 points, 12 rebounds, and six blocks in New Orleans' home win over the Lakers. It was Davis' third 25/10/5 game in only seven matchups on this young season.

If Davis can snag a 4th performance of at least 25/10/5 tonight, he'll move past David Robinson and Hakeem Olajuwon, who he's now tied with for that stat line, and join Patrick Ewing.

Davis however, is much more concerned about securing a "W" for the team.

"We have to come out strong defensively, knowing that they have Pekovic inside, a huge body," Davis said. "Kevin Martin is a scorer - they've got a lot of good scorers. We have to make sure we lock up defensively and try to stop their fast-break opportunity, knowing that's what they like to do."

A win tonight would move the Pelicans to 5-3 on the season. A win also provide a boost of confidence as New Orleans prepares to head our for a week-long West Coast road trip next week, starting in Portland and continuing through Sacramento, Denver and Utah.
