Angels GM Billy Eppler wants a 'fundamentally sound' Angels team

There's been a lot of 'old school' versus 'new school' talk around the Angels the past few days. With stories of manager Mike Scioscia's old school mindset being possibly softened to the new age of baseball analytics, new Angels GM Billy Eppler has made one thing very clear: he wants his Angels to be fundamentally sound above all else.

Sitting down with FOX Sports West's Jose Mota prior to the team's spring training matchup with the San Franscisco Giants, Eppler was asked his baseball philopshy and had this to say:

 

In an interview that ranged from analyzing ballpark dimensions when selecting pitchers to the 'just win' core of the Yankee philosophy, Eppler's attention to detail becomes apparent right away.
