Andrew Wiggins posterizes Omer Asik; reporter narrowly escapes Puig Gatorade bath

Early in the first quarter against the possibly playoff-bound New Orleans Pelicans (they're in with a win over the Spurs on Wednesday), Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Andrew Wiggins climbed the invisible ladder and jammed one down with authority over seven-footer Omer Asik. Make sure you stay tuned in the video above for the various angles. Decent defense by Asik -- Wiggins just happens to have the reach of Stretch Armstrong and leaping ability of . . . JJ Watt.

Thanks to the New York Knicks' inabiity to properly tank (winners of two in a row!), the T-Wolves have taken (tank-en?) the inside track to the top allotment of NBA lottery ping-pong balls and the No. 1 overall pick. That player, perhaps Duke big man Jahlil Okafor, would join Wiggins, Zach Lavine and Kevin Garnett, who will enter his legal drinking game season (21st) in the fall.

MLB reporters, like the players, must be able to react quickly. In slow motion, watch LA Dodgers reporter Alanna Rizzo eye the threat and avert disaster as "Wild Horse" Yasiel Puig closes in on teammate Alex Guerrero, who hit a 10th inning, walk-off RBI single.

Puig still got Rizzo, though.
