BROOKWOOD, Ala. (AP) It's not unusual for a high school basketball team to score on its first possession of a game.

But what if those are the only points scored all game?

The Tuscaloosa News reports (http://bit.ly/1zU1BfF) that Bibb County defeated Brookwood 2-0 on Saturday in a game with the only score coming in the opening 15 seconds.

After a couple of passes, Bibb County's Brandon Rutledge scored after rebounding a missed 3-pointer. And that was it for the points.

The newspaper reports the National Federation of State High School Associations says two North Carolina high schools played a 2-0 game in 1977.

Ron Ingram of the Alabama High School Athletic Association hadn't found any games in the state where both teams failed to reach double digits in points.

''As far as I know, that is the lowest score that has ever been reported,'' Ingram said.

The last meeting between the two teams was an offensive bonanza by comparison. Brookwood had beaten Bibb County 40-36 in November.

Bibb County coach Russ Wallace calls it the most interesting game of his career. He estimates the teams combined to attempt fewer than 10 shots and said they employeed stalling tactics to milk the clock.
