Alabama and LSU Have Offered 8th Grader Dylan Moses
Nick Saban and Les Miles compete every day, all day to sign the best football players in the country. And now Alabama and LSU are extending the competition to kids younger than high school. This weekend Alabama offered 8th grader Dylan Moses. That sounds crazy. But it turns out that Moses, who projects as a running back, linebacker, ro defensive back, has already had a scholarship offer from LSU for a year.
Since he was in seventh grade!
Lane Kiffin nods smugly.
How much of an athletic freak is Moses? He's 6'1", 215 pounds, with a 34 inch vertical and he's already clocked a 4.4.
All of these measurables were impossible for Saban and Miles to resist.
So how'd the scholarship offer go down? Let's go to AL.com for the full story.
"We met with Coach Saban after lunch and he talked to Dylan about his future and what he needed to do to achieve his potential as a student and as a football player. When he said he was offering Dylan a scholarship, we asked a lot of questions just to make sure we knew exactly what he meant. Coach Saban said the Alabama staff believes Dylan has a chance to be the best player in the country in the Class of 2017 and they were ready to offer him a scholarship. That's when the fireworks started going off in our heads."
The best player in the country in 2017!
That's four years from now.
After watching this video, I already feel bad for his high school football opponents. About two minutes in, watch closely as he knocks a blocker through the air into the running back for the tackle. Yes, that really happened.
This kid is a complete freak.
How much of a freak?
If he played for Notre Dame next season he'd win the Heisman Trophy.
I think this kid was born with a mustache.
And for the inevitable handwringing that will ensue over this kid getting a scholarship offer so soon, stop, the kid's going to a regular high school. If he was a European soccer player they'd have him in an academy already perfecting his art.
He'll be fine.
Spend your time worrying about the poor bastards trying to block him.
