Aaron Rodgers gets custom US soccer jersey with '@aaronrodgers12' on back
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers posted a pair of tweets today showing his support for the U.S. men's national soccer team, which is inarguably a cool move. Yet, in the posted photo, Rodgers is sporting custom top with "@AARONRODGERS12" on the back.

That's like wearing the shirt of the band you're going to see, or, like wearing a jersey with your own name on the back, let alone one with a Twitter handle. You just don't do that. It's a fundamental tenet of being a sports fan. Yes, people do it, but it's weak, and Rodgers should know better. There's no shortage of likable U.S. players with jerseys for sale.
Danica Patrick and Mike Trout are also rocking jerseys with their own names. The evidence suggests that @ussoccer is behind the custom jersey movement and that my disappointment with Aaron Rodgers is misguided.

Hey U.S. soccer, just sell everyone jerseys of the actual players. Let's go America!
