A pool with a view: Jaguars create unique class of seating

Say goodbye to the unsightly tarps which covered hundreds of seats in the north end zone at Jacksonville Jaguars home games.

In their place: a completely different way of watching an NFL game.

A two-level party deck which includes two pools and 20 cabanas is part of the ongoing $63 million renovation of EverBank Field. Patrons of the larger Spa Cabanas, which will be available for both season tickets and on a single-game basis, will get exclusive access to the pools and private changing rooms.

"For us, it gives our stadium some character," Chad Johnson, the Jaguars' senior vice president of sales, told Sports Business Daily. "We're at a place in Florida where water plays an important part and these additions help the stadium take on a new personality."

Johnson said that as of last week, the Jaguars had sold 65 percent of all cabanas, which consist of eight 50-person units and 12 20-person units. Each cabana has cushioned furniture and a lounge area, although the price of a ticket includes beer and wine but no hard liquor. As is the case elsewhere in the stadium, beverage service will be stopped after the third quarter.

Spa Cabana customers will be identified by the wristbands they wear while entering and exiting the pools.
