On July 30, 2007, the Rangers made a trade with Atlanta that would help shape the franchise for years to come. On that fateful day, Texas shipped Mark Teixeira and Ron Mahay to the Braves. So, what did the Rangers get in exchange? Well, how about a virtual laundry list of prospects. Now that several of these prospects are starters in Arlington, what better time to evaluate what is now becoming one of the most one-sided deals, but in a good way, in franchise history.

Atlanta Acquired:

Ron Mahay---The veteran set up man signed a minor league deal with the Twins earlier this year. He will likely start the year at Triple-A. The Rangers got almost four good years out of Mahay between 2003 and the middle part of 2007, when he made 215 relief appearances for the club. Beside the Braves, he has also pitched in Kansas City and Minnesota since leaving Arlington. The lefthander is now 38 but could still be useful in a setup or middle relief role for a team seeking some bullpen depth.
